The PP candidate says that the station does not meet the conditions of nuetrality.José Antonio Griñán and Javier Arenas - EFE As Andalucia is decorated with election banners with the campaign for the regional poll on March 25, the first main TV debate on Canal Sur will not see the presence of the PP candidate, Javier Arenas. A statement from the Partido Popular in Andalucia said that the channel did not meet the conditions of neutrality, and they have proposed a postponement and made other suggestions. However the debate will go ahead anyway at 9,30pm tonight with José Antonio Griñán from the PSOE and Diego Valderas from IU. The PSOE Organisation Secretary, Susana Díaz, said that it was shameful that Arenas has refused to debate. She said it bodes badly for Andalucía. ‘The PP has to explain why the labour reform is just and necessary, as Mariano Rajoy claims’, she said. The PSOE candidate José Antonio Griñán said, ‘Arenas sees himself as winner in the polls and he wants to take no risks’. The IU candidate, Diego Valderas, said Arenas is not attending as ‘he has no arguments’.
