Argentina is putting pressure on Spanish multinational company Repsol and has removed four licences for partner YPF in the south of the country. The subsidiary of the Spanish company now has 90 days to hand over the deposits. The licences for Chabut and Santa Cruz amount to 7% of the total gas and petrol production of YPF in Argentina. The Argentinean government accuses the company of ‘not fighting for the interests of the Argentineans’. The company has responded by saying it will take ‘the opportune legal measures to guarantee its rights and to demand public responsibilities’.
